Vietnam emerges as a transit hub for North American hardwood bound for China
China customs data show that from January to July 2025, Vietnam’s timber exports to China surged significantly. Export volumes rose 65.8% year-on-year, while export values nearly doubled, increasing by 94.5%. In July alone, Vietnam exported 36,300 cubic meters of timber to China, a 140.6% increase compared with July 2024, with an import value of US$24.62 million, up 239% year-on-year. Data indicate that from January to July 2025, Vietnam’s ash exports to China grew by 45.4% year-on-year, oak exports increased by 1,124.3%.  ...
